Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Resonance is a dating app for discovering compatible people nearby, at venues, and at events. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as email address and authentication identifiers.
- Profile information such as name, age, bio, photos, gender, preferences, and survey answers.
- Compatibility data including match scores, category breakdowns, and generated icebreakers.
- Location data you provide or allow while using nearby, map, bump, and event features.
- Event and venue check-ins including venue name, type, coordinates, and expiration time.
- Messages, voice notes, media attachments, read receipts, reports, blocks, and safety protocol updates.
- Device and notification data such as push tokens and basic diagnostic information.
How We Use Information
- To create your account, show your profile, and save your preferences.
- To calculate compatibility and recommend nearby or event-specific matches.
- To enable messaging, media sharing, audio calls, video calls, push notifications, and read receipts.
- To power venue check-ins, map visibility, bump matching, QR reveal, and post-event discovery.
- To prevent abuse, enforce blocks, review reports, respond to safety requests, and protect users.
- To debug, secure, maintain, and improve the app.
Location and Event Visibility
Location features are designed for in-person discovery. You can use profile location, map, nearby, bump, and event check-ins to become visible to other users. Event check-ins expire. You can leave an event or change visibility controls in the app.
AI and Compatibility
Resonance may use AI systems to calculate compatibility, summarize alignment, and suggest icebreakers. AI output can be imperfect and should not be treated as professional, safety, legal, medical, or relationship advice.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the app with infrastructure, database, storage, notification, and AI service providers.
Safety, Reports, and Blocks
You can report or block another user. Blocking is enforced across discovery, map, events, matches, messaging, calls, and notifications. Reports may be retained to protect the community even if an account is deleted.
Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account from Settings in the iOS app. Deletion removes or anonymizes your profile, survey answers, check-ins, matches, connections, push tokens, and messages you sent.
Your Choices
- Edit your profile, survey answers, and preferences from the app.
- Change notification, camera, microphone, and location permissions in iOS Settings.
- Block or report users from profile and chat surfaces.
- Delete your account from Settings.
- Contact support@resonance.dating for requests.
Children
Resonance is for adults only. Do not use the app if you are under 18.
